Da ieri sono disponibili tutte le candidature per i prossimi Mtv Vma 2023 che si terranno nella notte tra il 12 e il 13 settembre dal Prudential Center del New Jersey. Come noto, anche i Maneskin hanno ottenuto, ancora una volta, una nomination come "Best Rock" per The Loneliest, dopo aver vinto, nel 2022, il premio come "Best alternative", un successo che ha portato per la prima volta la vittoria in Italia. A fare la voce grossa tra le nomination di quest'anno, però, c'è Taylor Swift che ha 8 candidature e concorre per le vittorie come Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year e Best Pop tra gli altri, mentre alle sue spalle, con sei candidature c'è SZA mentre a cinque un gruppo formato da Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo e Sam Smith, mentre a quattro ci sono BLACKPINK, Diddy e Shakira. Questa edizione, inoltre, ha il numero più alto di prime candidature.

La candidatura dei Maneskin come Best Rock

Poche sorprese per Swift e SZA che hanno ottenuto un enorme successo coi loro album e hanno raggiunto la prima posizione, coi propri lavori, della Billboard 200 in questo 2023. Bene anche i Maneskin, che anche quest'anno portano l'Italia a giocarsi una possibile vittoria, dopo le tre nomination e la vittoria dello scorso anno. Non sarà semplice, visto che la concorrenza è forte e vede Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica e Muse, nella stessa categoria, ovvero alcune delle band che hanno scritto la Storia del rock contemporaneo, ma riuscendo anche a svecchiare non di poco la categoria. Da oggi all'1 settembre, quindi, sarà possibile votare le 15 categorie dello how che in Italia sarà trasmesso in diretta in lingua originale a partire dalle ore 02:00 su MTV (canale Sky 131 e in streaming su NOW) e su MTV Music (canale Sky 132 e 704) e sarà anticipato dal pre-show a partire dalle 00.30.
