Pronti, via. La 3oesima edizione degli Mtv Video Music Awards è pronta a partire, al Barclays Center di New York il 25 agosto 2013. Anche qui in Italia potremo seguire la diretta, restando svegli imbottiti di caffé, alle 3 di notte tra sabato 24 e domenica 25 agosto. Le nomination, presentate lo scorso 17 luglio, vedono strafavorito Justin Timberlake e Macklemore (6 candidature a testa), subito dietro ci sono Bruno Mars e Robin Thicke, vere rivelazioni delle classifiche internazionali, con 4 candidature a testa.

Attesa per Lady Gaga vs Katy Perry. Sarà, soprattutto, l'edizione delle performance, poche ma buone. Si esibiranno sul palco del Barclays Center, tanto per cominciare, gli ‘NSync, tornati insieme giusto per l'evento. La boyband che lanciò Justin Timberlake, farà una sorta di medley dei loro più grandi successi più in omaggio al loro "padrino artistico", Michael Jackson. Ci saranno i Daft Punk con Nile Rodgers e Pharrell, ci sarà Bruno Mars e Macklemore, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus ma, soprattutto, ci sarà il ritorno di Lady Gaga e Katy Perry sul palco. La Germanotta presenterà "Applause", forte degli oltre 8 milioni di click in tre giorni, mentre la Perry arriva con "Roar", con i 600.000 download in meno di una settimana.

Tutte le nomination. E' il video dell'anno il premio più ambito, Justin Timberlake non dovrebbe avere rivali, nonostante l'insidia Robin Thicke con Blurred Lines è dietro l'angolo. Per il cantante, che ha fatto il pieno di polemiche con la sua canzone sessista, non dovrebbero però esserci problemi perché tra le altre tre nomination dovrebbe vincere a mani basse come "Best Song of Summer 2013", "Best Collaboration", giocandosi anche il premio come "Best Male". Tra le donne è scontro tra Miley Cyrus e P!nk, con Taylor Swift possibile outsider e Demi Lovato e Rihanna che, a meno di sorprese, questa volta resteranno a guardare.
