Grammy 2017, Jay Z e Kendrick Lamar in testa alle candidature, in gara anche Cornell e Cohen

Molto rap ai prossimi Grammy Awards, con Jay Z e Kendrick Lamar a contendersi le categorie principali con Bruno Mars, Lorde e Childish Gambino.

Dimenticatevi Taylor Swift, per quanto riguarda i prossimi Grammy a fare la voce grossa sono due dei rapper più amati degli Usa, nonché rappresentanti di due generazioni diverse tra loro. Sono Jay Z e Kendrick Lamar due dei protagonisti di queste nomination a cui si affiancano nomi come quello di Bruno Mars e Lorde. Jay Z, che nella carriera, di Grammy ne ha vinti 21, è il leader indiscusso con 8 nomination, tra cui "Album of the Year" (4:44), "Record of the Year" ("The Story of O.J.") e "Song of the Year" ("4:44"), sono 7 le candidature per il rapper che quest'anno ha pubblicato forse uno dei migliori album rap degli ultimi anni, D.A.M.N., che concorrerà per categorie come "Album of the year" e "Record of the Year", alla stregua di Bruno Mars che pure spera di portarsi a casa qualche statuetta dalle 6 nomination ottenute.

A confrontarsi tra gli album dell'anno ci sono anche "Melodrama" di Lorde e "Awaken, My Love!" di Childish Gambino, mentre non poteva mancare "Despacito" tra i candidati. E infatti, il tormentone del 2017 che con l'aiuto del remix di Justin Bieber è finito in testa alla Billboard 100, la classifica americana dei migliori singoli, concorre per la categoria "Record of the Year" e "Song of the Year", mentre tra le nuove leve se la giocano Alessia Cara, Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels e SZA. Per il miglior album pop in gara “Kaleidoscope EP” dei Coldplay, “Lust for Life” —di Lana Del Rey, “Evolve” degli Imagine Dragons, “Rainbow” —di Kesha, “Joanne” di Lady Gaga e “÷” di Ed Sheeran, mentre nelle categorie rock se la giocano anche Leonard Cohen e Chris Cornell, entrambi scomparsi tra il 2016 e il 2017.
